2017 Nissan Versa Note
The Versa Note was introduced into the U.S. in 2013 for the 2014 model year. The Versa sedan and Versa Note have exciting, unique exteriors, whereas most manufacturers offer lookalike styling on their hatchback models by simply producing a hatchback instead of a trunk lid. The hatchback, in particular, has 5-door utility and an extra level of style. The Versa and Versa Note have been a major success story for Nissan, maintaining the highest number of sales over the years compared to rivals.
The 2017 Versa Note has a more pronounced style with a “V-Motion” grille and front fascia that blend seamlessly with the cool, swept-back halogen lights. Although it now more closely resembles the Nissan Maxima, Nissan Sentra, and Nissan Altima, its new design maintains the vibrant personality of the Versa Note, particularly when decked out in Deep Blue Pearl or Monarch Orange colors. On top of these changes, the Versa Note SV, S Plus, and SL trims come with a rear sports fascia that was previously only to be found on the Versa Note SR.
Other new features include an updated design for the wheels on the SV and S Plus grades. The SL trim also gets a new design for its aluminum alloy wheels. The 2017 Versa Note has a number of interior updates that must have come about from customer feedback, like bigger cup holders, the SV, SL, and SR trims’ extra 12-volt outlet, and the relocation of the USB auxiliary port and 12-volt outlet to be front and center.
The Nissan Versa Note comes in SV, S Plus, SL, and SR models, each equipped with a DOHC 4-cylinder, 1.6-liter 16-valve engine that is matched with a Nissan Xtronic transmission, enabling it to offer an incredible 39 miles per gallon on the highway, according to EPA estimates.
The 2017 Nissan Versa Note is available for sale in St. Joseph, MO, near Independence, MO; Merriam, KS; Mission, KS; Prairie Village, KS; and Overland Park, KS.
The 2017 Nissan Versa Note hatchback has a capacity of five and has four trims, the SR, the SV, the S Plus, and the SL. It has a 1.6-liter engine with four cylinders producing 107 pounds of torque and 109 horsepower, with a continuously variable transmission routing power to the front wheels.
The base S Plus trim already comes with air conditioning as standard, steel wheels of 15 inches, a tilt-only steering wheel, Bluetooth phone integration, a four-speaker CD player, cloth upholstery, and an auxiliary audio input.
The SV trim has in addition remote keyless entry, power windows, cruise control, extra interior trim, upgraded gauges, upgraded cloth upholstery, a driver’s seat that is height adjustable and includes an armrest, a steering wheel wrapped in leather, a rearview camera, an adjustable cargo floor, a touchscreen display of 5 inches, satellite radio, USB-iPod audio input, Bluetooth streaming audio, and a texting assistant that you can use hands-free.
The SR trim has sporty exterior treatments, foglights, alloy wheels of 16 inches, a rear spoiler, heated mirrors, keyless ignition, an Easy-Fill Tire Alert system for tire pressure monitoring when you’re inflating the tires, faux suede upholstery, a sport steering wheel, and an armrest at the center rear.
The SL trim is further embellished with a touchscreen of 5.8 inches, a real-time traffic navigation system, mobile apps, heated front seats, and a 360-degree camera system.
The Nissan Versa Note has had its styling redesigned since its introduction in 2013 in a way that has improved aerodynamics and therefore enhanced fuel economy. It stays ahead of its competitors, with an energetic look thanks to its tight proportions and dramatic shape.
The 2017 model has a new fascia crowned with the V-Motion grille from Nissan. It has a front that is steeply sloped paired with doors that are deeply sculpted. It has a “squash line” character line that was inspired by the sport squash. This suggests the motion of a squash ball striking a wall and bouncing on the floor of the court before returning to the player, reflecting the energetic dynamic of the car in both driving feel and look.
The note has a coefficient drag of 0.298 thanks to this great attention to aerodynamic detail. Its big front spoiler teams up with the roof shape and low-drag floor structure to push airflow away under, around, and over the body. The amount of air that enters the engine compartment is limited by an Active Grille Shutter, decreasing the force of drag by 0.01. At above 20 miles per hour speeds, the Active Grille Shutter is closed.
The car has new halogen headlights that are multi-reflector and swept back, combined with the “boomerang” rear taillights that are similar to those of the Nissan Juke and the Nissan 370Z. The taillights have a special vented design that allows better visibility of the lamps in poor weather and reduces air turbulence. It also has available heated sideview mirrors and foglights.
The SR model has interior and exterior treatments like a rear spoiler, foglights, side view mirrors that have side turn signals integrated, side sills in body color, suede-like seats, a sport steering wheel that is leather wrapped, and sporty 16-inch aluminum alloy wheels that are machine-finished.
The Versa Note has an extra-long 102.4-inch wheelbase that helps maximize the roominess of the interior, while it has a sporty stance and is highly maneuverable because of its short rear and front overhangs.
The 2017 Versa Note for sale in St. Joseph, Missouri has a roomy interior, with a volume of 112.9 cubic feet, and it has 18.8 cubic feet of cargo space. Bulky or heavy objects can easily be loaded or unloaded thanks to the low cargo area lift-over height. It has 38.3 inches of legroom in the rear and 40.8 inches of headroom in the front, making it big enough for kids and adults alike.
An available Divide-N-Hide Adjustable Floor is used to enhance interior versatility. The cargo area is flat thanks to this system, and there is a hidden area under the cargo floor boards that is used for keeping valuables safe. When the floor board is optionally lowered, it creates a deeper cargo well for bulkier or taller items. The floor board can be removed easily when necessary.
Interior features include cloth seating, front bucket seats that are 4-way adjustable on the S Plus trim or 6-way adjustable on SV, SL, and SR trims, FM/AM/CD/Aux 4-speaker audio system, 12V power outlet, pockets with bottle holders in the front doors, dual rear and front cupholders, seatback pocket in the front passenger seat, fold-down rear seats with 60/40-split, and a hands-free phone system with Bluetooth. It also has available heated front seats, a steering wheel wrapped in leather, USB input with iPod control, silver/chrome accents, and Bluetooth and audio controls mounted on the steering wheel. The interior colors can be Wheat Stone or Charcoal.
The Versa Note comes with a class-exclusive 360-view camera. This system has four wide-angle cameras situated on the rear, sides, and front of the car that provide a complete view of things around the car to make it easier to get the vehicle into a tight spot. The SL grade has this monitor as standard.
The SL (and SRs with the Tech Package) get NissanConnect – mobile and navigation apps, SiriusXM Travel and SiriusXM Traffic Link, audio and navigation control using voice recognition and a color display screen of 5.8 inches. The NissanConnect Navigation System warns on speed limits, curves, and has an economy route setting.
SR and SV grades include a Hands-Free Text Messaging Assistant that enables receiving and responding to text messages without the need to touch one’s phone. The Versa Note also offers Nissan Intelligent Key that allows ignition by pushing a button, SiriusXM satellite radio support, and a rearview monitor.
The Versa Note front-wheel drive provides a great combination of performance and fuel economy. The powertrain is anchored by a 4-cylinder HR16DE 1.6-liter engine with 109 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 107 lb-ft of torque at 4,400 rpm. The engine has a dual fuel injector system that has smaller nozzles that deliver a 57% finer spray than the previous single injector design.
The lightweight, compact engine has a Twin Continuously Variable Timing Control system on the exhaust and intake ports, similar to the system found on the Nissan Maxima. (Thermal efficiency is improved by mounting a CVTC on outlet ports as there’s reduced resistance to inhalation making for a roughly 4% increase in fuel efficiency.)
The advanced Xtronic transmission on the Versa Note has a D-step Logic Control that can simulate shifts, resulting in a natural acceleration feel with no high rpm constant. It connects the metallic belt and the two pulleys and uses hydraulic pressure to change their diameters allowing for continuous change of the transmission gear ratios.
The 2017 Versa Note has steel wheels of 15 inches and 185/65HR15 all-season tires. The SL and SR grades have 195/55HR16 all-season tires and aluminum alloy wheels of 16 inches as standard. All models have standard low rolling resistance tires.
The Versa Note uses the Nissan Advanced Air Bag System, which includes airbags mounted in the front seat and sides and airbags on the roof curtain. Other safety features include Vehicle Dynamic Control, a Tire Monitoring System with Easy-Fill Tire Alert, and a Traction Control System.
