Why Service at Rolling Hills Nissan?

How do I know when to replace my front brakes? This is one of the most common questions that are asked by our customers, which makes sense because brakes are extremely, extremely important. Your brakes are arguably the only things standing in between you and an accident (could be minor or a huge wreck). To answer your question we have devised the following list that acts as a guide to indicate if you need to replace your front brakes:
Replacing your brake pads is extremely important and the most common brake service. Brake pads typically last between 30,000 - 35,000 miles, but the best way to know for sure is to check your owners manual. Getting your brake pads replaced can actually save you a lot of money in the long run. If your brake pads are not regularly changed then this can lead to more expensive brake replacement services. Consider the signs above, but another way to tell is by actually inspecting your brake pads yourself. If you can get a good visual of your brake pads (if you look through your tire spokes you will see your brake pads packed against your brake rotor) then the rule of thumb is that your brake pads should measure to be no slimmer than ¼ of an inch. If they get to be slimmer than an inch then they need to be replaced and if they have worn even more than you will need further front brake service.
